ถ้าแปลตรงๆตัวคำว่า
cycle ก็คือรอบ
คำว่ารอบไม่ได้เท่ากับคำว่าครั้ง ดังนั้นการชาร์ต 1 ครั้งจึงไม่เท่ากับ 1 cycle ซะทีเดียว
จำนวน 1 Cycle จะวัดจากปริมาณการชาร์ตไฟที่รวมๆแล้ว
เท่ากับปริมาณการชาร์ตไฟจากแบตเตอรี่ที่ไม่มีไฟ(0%) จนแบตเตอรี่มีไฟเต็ม(100%) 1
ครั้ง
เช่น
ถ้าเราชาร์ตครั้งแรกจากแบตเตอรี่ 50%=>100% การชาร์ตครั้งนี้ก็จะนับเท่ากับ 0.5
cycle
หรือถ้าชาร์ตครั้งต่อมาอีก
80%=>100% เมื่อรวมกับครั้งแรกก็จะได้เท่ากับ
0.5+0.2 = 0.7 cycle

ข้อควรระวัง
การใช้งานครั้งแรก
Lead Acid Battery ชาร์จเต็มมาแล้วจากโรงงาน
แต่ก่อนใช้งานครั้งแรก ต้องชาร์จไฟก่อนประมาณ 12 ชั่วโมง
เพื่อกระตุ้นปฎิกิริยาภายใน
ซึ่งมีผลให้แบตเตอรี่มีอายุการใช้งานที่ยาวนาน และ ส่องสว่างเต็มประสิทธิภาพ
ห้ามชาร์จไฟเกิน 20
ชั่วโมง
ไม่ว่าจะชาร์จครั้งแรก
หรือ ครั้งต่อๆไป (แบตจะบวม น้ำกรดจะไหลออกมา)
ควรจะใช้ไฟให้หมดก่อนมั้ยแล้วค่อยชาร์จ
ไม่ควรใช้ไฟให้หมดแล้วค่อยชาร์จ
แต่ควรจะชาร์จทันทีที่สะดวก เมื่อไฟเริ่มอ่อน
เพราะการปล่อยให้ไฟยิ่งอ่อนเท่าไหร่ ก็ยิ่งทำให้อายุการใช้งานสั้นลงเท่านั้น
โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการเปิดไฟฉายทิ้งไว้จนไฟหมด
ซึ่งมักจะเกิดจากการเก็บไว้ในกระเป๋าใส่เสื้อผ้า หรือ
ลิ้นชักรถยนต์ที่มีของจำนวนมากแล้วสวิทช์ถูกเบียดดันไปตำแหน่งเปิดนานเกินไป

การชาร์จแบตเตอรี่
Lead Acid ที่ไฟเต็มอยู่ปลอดภัย
ไม่ทำอันตรายต่อแบตเตอรี่แต่อย่างใด อย่างไรก็ตามห้ามชาร์จไฟเกิน 15 ชั่วโมง เพราะแบตจะบวม,น้ำกรดจะไหลออก
เมื่อไม่ได้ใช้ไฟฉาย
หรือ ถ้านานๆใช้ไฟฉายที ควรทำอย่างไร สำคัญมาก ควรจะชาร์จไฟให้เต็ม 12
ชั่วโมง และ
นำมาชาร์จใหม่ ทุกครั้งเมื่อมีโอกาสหรือนึกขึ้นได้ เพราะควรมีประจุอยู่ภายใน battery
40% ขึ้นไป แต่เนื่องจากเราไม่สามารถวัดค่าได้
ดังนั้นวิธีที่ง่ายและปลอดภัยก็คือ ชาร์จให้เต็มไว้ก่อน
